I disagree. I like how its seperate. What could you possibly need to sync between Mail and iCal anyways..... Event invties... ohh wait that works. I believe its better to have 3 seperate programs instead of entourage... that way you can be more efficient with your use. Like for instance, when I use my laptop in class I close Mail... cause I don't have Internet, but I still need iCal. So its perfect. I mean the only downside is that you have to click to open two apps. I don't see anything else. WHat can you integrate between the two other than contacts which is its own program.

I think its perfect how it is. I would love to see new features, new features are always great; I just can't think of any. Ohh I know one. Making things in iCal have links to documents so if a To-Do is to like finish a project.. u can link to the files so its all there, due date, importance, notes, location of files. And maybe they could work on the calendars (categories). Smart calendars would be nice. And more flexibility with calendars. I don't really see any other problems. I'm sure there are I'm just not that good at looking.

I have to disagree. In this case, integration is not a big deal. But in an office environment, having to switch between programs in order to take care of emails, contacts, appointments, and tasks is a big time waster. Yes, iCal has the event thingy and tasks but the fact remains that its not tightly coordinated like Outlook. I really don't understand why thye just don't put iCal in with Mail.

The concept is based around adding physical/tactile controls over a touch-sensitive pad.

    Prior Art: MacNTouch (http://www.fingerworks.com/MacNTouch_product.html)

Okay, so it doesn't have the "physical/tactile controls" over the touch-sensitive pad, but it is one giant touch-sensitive pad.

Not just impatient, but when your USED to getting something every Janurary and then one year you don't get it, it makes you wonder.

All i want is a smaller MBP.

15 inches is much too big IMO, at least for my needs.

I will be ready to buy around the end of Feb.

Hopefully by then I'll have a new release to spend $$ on.

    amen man.

    I agree, 100% i know didn't have the problem.

Paranoia, forums doing this crazy things. Some models sure have this problem and must be fixed in an Apple Store but not all and especially ith problem happens only in some conditions.

He could have argued it was for health reasons (one of the exceptions). Ski masks are allowed (sporting activities are exceptions also).

Please, they are on the ski slopes.

Actually, it will be better than Garmin.

What they do, is they hire local people to watch you via the position tracking. Then, they can give you directions based on your exact location.

Imagine, "Slow down for upcoming pot hole on left."

    bahahaha!

Discipline. Culture. Upbringing definitely has a lot to do with it.

Exactly what I was thinking. The Japanese are very disciplined people and have very different attitudes then those in the Western world. It is one of the reason why the country has been so successful throughout history.

Income re-distribution has little to do with that is going on in Japan. As a single person who makes a decent middle class income (decent, not rich by any means) I pay my fair share. Between income taxes and property taxes I re-distribute plenty of my wealth. Now you think if I gave more of it away and it was given to others that there would be less looting when disaster strikes? Unless our entire culture in the U.S. changes, I doubt that it would make any difference.

I don't really get all the reactions, like it's the end of the world or something. If the iPhone 4 drops calls too much, just get another phone/operator? If it drops bars but doesn't drop your call or connection, then who gives a damn, seriously. You can either buy one and live with it/deal with it/love it or you can just get a refund.

And Steve Jobs is not a liar or crazy. He's a marketeer and a showman and will defend his Apple at all cost and will portrait his company as perfect and untouchable. Don't expect Apple to flat out admit that the iPhone 4 sux, because that would just be silly. That's just not how Apple does things. Either they are going to do a silent revision and fix it or just do nothing. Either way, it's your money, get something else if you don't like it.

It's minor news, I guess, but I'm SOOOOOO glad to hear it. Now I can listen to "Before These Crowded Streets" and "OK Computer" without the annoying gaps!

Nym: No offence, but I am pretty sure that NOT ONE of the US founders was a Catholic. THere were some deists, most were Anglican, maybe a few Quakers, maybe a few Calvinists and what would later be called Baptists. Several agnostics/atheists. Being Catholic was not in fashion at the time of the US revolution...

No offense taken of course :)
By the way, I deleted my post when you said it offended you, I'm not here to offend anyone, I was just in a rush leaving work and didn't had the time to check if what I'd written could cause some susceptibilities.
Apparently it did so I removed it.

Well, on a 256kbps stream (not sure if the music would get re-encoded or if the service would allow you to select bitrate) you would use about 112.5 MB per hour of streaming. If you had a 30 minute commute each way to work, you are looking at (roughly) going over your allowance in a month (AT&T USA) without any other data usage. (60 mins x 20 days = 2,250MB ).

I'm not sure this is sustainable unless the telecom providers stop putting small data caps on usage...

You get 2GB bandwidth allowance? Most tarrifs in the UK are capped at 500MB. :(

10.4.0 was terrible. Tiger, in general, has been one big yawn.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

10.1.0 was terrible. And several things about Tiger have been welcome additions, I particularly enjoy Dashboard (although I know some people hate it, and I know Yahoo Widget Engine is an option as well, but not as good/seamless), and especially Automator. Automator has been absolutely wonderful.

Not to mention that my older computer actually saw a noticable speed increase with Tiger vs. 10.3. Sure, it wasn't as revolutionary as OS X when it first came out, but to me it was the best 10.x release thus far.

Also, I didn't run into any bugs at 10.4.0 other than the left/right audio balance bug (which I believe stuck around til 10.4.3).

Apple dugg a huge hole for themselves. They played with the marketing and PR department promising a truly revolutionary product like it is the case with each new iteration of the iphone and then the ppl believed and thought they REALLY REALLY need to have it.

Once they got it in their hands, they got offended that it is not working like they were told. Its understandable on one hand but on the other its just pure irony that the ppl really believe they need a new cell phone every year.

Its both sad and genius on Apples part.

jon stewart, or should i say Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz, is not funny and is an unintelligent, illogical, emotional child. anything funny he says on his show is no doubt written by a team of young writers. he is famous for being a clown.

    Unintelligent? lol
Have you seen him pick people apart with questions or when he's doing commentary?
As for emotional, you may want to check out the nutbars on Faux News with their crazy antics (Glenn Beck) and constant lies. Let's also not forget the Tea Bagging people, they're a weeee bit emotional as well.

Yes, thats right I pierced my face today.
(ya I know, workplace issue, Ill deal with it when it arises)

A friend and I took a trip over to Berkeley today for some clothes shopping and a piercing after class today.

We went to Zebra Tattoo and Piercing Where I got my left temple pierced, with a small gauge barbell (style). The piercing angle continues the contour of my eyebrow. It looks good. It didnt hurt at all, it felt like popping a zit. I was suprised, having the clamp on my face was more scary. When I had my ears pierced, that hurt more then this did. Currently my body is reacting to it like any other piercing ("What the f! is this?"). I dont think that the piercing is all that noticeable if you were to talk to me face to face, since it is more on the side of my face and not more forward like a eyebrow or nose piercing. I like it, my friend likes it, boyfriend likes it, and the guys in SF like it, cruised me hard while walking to the train (especially the business men in the financial district, ages 30-50+, and yes there was no mistaking it for anything else, maybe its just Thursday is horney day for business men? )
Im thinking maybe nipples for my next piercing adventure.

I'll post pics of my temple piercing, hopefully tomorrow, I need batteries for my camera.

Thanks Wanshern (friend), Ill be there for your next piercing :)

It was a good day. :D

    Bluray support.
Call me insane but I actually like the iTunes 10 vertical traffic lights, so I think they should be implemented into every app.
    Latest OpenGL support.
    Same system requirements as Leopard.
