You are obviously missing the point. Apple's new subscription model is preventing choice from coming to it's customers. How is that not a bad thing?
How up-front is the FT with its subscribers that it values the ability to sell their mailing address and contact information more than anything else?
I know that Pearson in general is heavily invested in getting iPad and other electronic readership up across their product lines. This is public information. The fact that FT sees subscriber information as valuable enough to stake its future on and to buck the overall corporate direction is very telling.
Until the FT reverses route, the ONLY rational response is to either not buy the FT at all (there are competitors out there) or buy it at a news stand.

2) Never work for free.
3) Never work for a start up business UNLESS it has a larger group behind it (Public/private equity group, blue chip client with a new business, etc.. is ok).
4) Never do work for a religious organisation (seriously not a good idea). Or for that matter a union...
5) If you lie with dogs you'll get flees. Never work on a project you wouldn't want other clients seeing as a client of yours on your Portfolio.
6) Never work with a company where they can't speak your native language... Cheque time comes and "miso soli me no undastandy".
7) Be choosy about who you want to work with. Talented designers will always find work while talentless designers wont.
8) Other artists. They always have pre-defined notions are are rarely up for up for interpretation
9) Design by committee. When there is more then 2 or 3 people approving your design, RUN.
I've only had to fire 2 clients in 8 years of business. One photographer, and one glass blowing gallery. To that I say no more!

:eek: you've got to be joking right now. it's not supposed to be cushy, it's supposed to be horrible, and it's supposed to last until the day they die if they don't get the death penalty. before we were talking about life in prison without parole versus the death penalty, and now you're saying that someone who is currently death penalty worthy in the states should be put in prison for 16 years and thats sufficient? They do have extra power packs for the various iPods. While they aren't out for the new Shuffle yet, I have little doubt that they will be coming. Also, I wouldn't be too surprised to find that it wasn't too difficult to rig something up on your own, if you're at least a little bit tech savvy.
The add-on battery pack or charger would be bigger than the shuffle! :D I foresee another altoids tin solution... :)

All of this negative AT&T press is fantastic for me :D
I have had AT&T since they were called bellsouth and it was a car phone in a leather bag, attached to an antenna on the back of the family car. I have never had problems. Obviously 'back in the day' it hardly worked anywhere, but especially now it works everywhere, I never drop calls, I can always be reached. In fact, all the way back in 2002 I dropped my landline in favor of a Cingular (now AT&T) cellphone. I had sprint for a while, that was a bad experience, it was only for two years of a contract before I switched back to AT&T.
So, all of this junk just gives me all kinds of cool free stuff like this, when I was perfectly happen to being with LOL.

2) Even if they did, there are multiple geographic/mapping data providers
3) None of them obtained their data by having employees drive around in vehicles... That's an absurd suggestion

So whether a person deserves to get mugged based on how he dresses has nothing to do with whether he dresses as a wealthy person dresses, but instead has everything to do with your moral judgment of how well he conforms to standards that exist in your own head. Saw one of these parked up down my road earlier, in my opinion it's the best car on the market today. Amazing looking, so comfortable, and very very fast when they need to be.
First, can you [timg] your pic? It is a little huge.
Second, I like everything about the new XJ.... except how it looks out back. The black D-pillar just really looks out of place. Unless, of course, the car is black itself, and you can't see the contrast. I'm still not sure why they chose to do that, as it just stands out too much. Otherwise, yea, it is a fantastic looking car.

It's called "MacWorld" yet there was nothing in there about the mac. Just this little toy that dosn't really interest me that much called the "iPhone" and the "Apple TV".

The last quote I got for a 300GB SSD module for our SAN was $17,500 (after a 50% "discount" from list), about six months ago. So if we assume that the price has gone down a bit since then and Apple gets crazy volume discounts, let's assume they'd pay around $10k. Times 40,000 units, we'd be talking $400M just for the drives themselves, not counting the hot spares, enclosures, controllers, switches, licensing, and all the other ancillary stuff involved. We'd be somewhere between a half and three quarters of a billion dollars.
