at this point I am just going to go into my local best buy after work. This apple/att website business is for the birds! I don't mind paying the $50 deposit as long as I am guaranteed a phone on the 24th. I was just planning on using my best buy credit card. Wonder if I will be able to do that for the pre-order? TIA very kind BB worker answering questions :)

the whole thing seems to point into direction against muslims believes, because most western europeans and governments seem to lump them all together in one big pot ..muslim..must be a murder and terrorist and a destroyer of democracy and in the same way it is argued that muslims punish their wifes as they please in the name of allah
so i guess if we dont count these extremist hate preachers then we are left with the fact that muslims are just human beings like christians, jews, buddhists, atheists,.......... sorry to lazy to list all the religions on earth dont even know all of them or how many different religions there are
as in the "Humanist" philosophy, each persons religious theology is unique, therefore the answer would be equal to the current population of the Earth and thats changing constantly
and if we want to live together in peace it would be a good idea if all sides would start to respect each other and would not take our self to serious and try to find a compromise all can live with, as that would be true democracy, everything else is just a lie

Wow, if this is indeed live that's great! I haven't seen a live broadcasted presentation from Jobs in quite a while, probably since the last WWDC or MWSF which was done live a couple years ago.
I thought Jobs wasn't going to do the presentation today?

We get it. You side with the lady of the situation because you think it's reasonable for her to believe a car with a driver wouldn't move.I don't think you do "get it". I side with the view that whether the victim could be reasonably expected to have acted differently in her own interests or not, has absolutely no bearing on the degree of guilt of the lunatic who drove at over 100 mph with his wife clinging to his car. Your opinion of her judgement is utterly irrelevant.

Not gonna happen. For starters, how do you type in names for your audio tracks when you've got your keyboard swapped for a mixer? :)
Still, neat idea.
Look at the diagram again. The mixer could be placed below the keyboard, where that trackpad and wrist rests would normally be....
oh, HELL no. Please don't tell me you're serious. Can you actually imagine someone carrying around a portfolio of these plates to lay on their computer? That's worse than an 8" floppy!!!
Unbelievable.
I pray this never sees the light of day.
-Clive
I doubt people would carry them around. I think this is more about offering customized MB/MBP input interfaces for specific educational or professional purposes.

I don't see how he's not arrogant. The message from Justin always seems to go something like... "Oh you get viruses, oh, ouch, that sucks, because, um, I don't."
You know, on second thought, you're right, he's modest.
Oh, PLEASE. Don't tell me you think he's arrogant because of his script. He doesn't write the damn thing and if he did, the commercials would be in severe trouble. Did you read the frickin' blog? He sounds like a 14-year-old girl on AIM. "OMG, i so totally ddnt quit the apple commercials, LOL!!!1! tehy payz me real good. *tee hee* well 2day i 8 toaster stroodul (i dont kno how to spell that!) 4 breakfast. it was yummy! i drew a dollar sine w/the frosting! LOLOL! peece out!"
*rolls eyes*
Maybe he really did graduate from "South Harmon Institute of Technology."
Humanity embarrasses me.

I'm really puzzled what you people see good at this. This is pure *****.
Apple took the best small flash-based player in the world and made it the worst. With direct USB plug, you had amazing portability, still had MP3 player and good take it wheever you want. I regularly used to transfer small files from/to work, exchange files with friends etc.
With this, I would need to carry that stupid dock as well.
So it still has no screen at all, now has no USB as well, but it has the hinge. Wow.
The worst piece of "design" ever offered by Apple. Probably designed by a person that never actually used Shuffle in real life.
Get out of the box and think bout it from a music perspective. No need to compare it with the older shuffle. I`ve seen a lot of small mp3 players and none of them got me interested enough to even consider one. All I cared for was a full screen iPod. But this new shuffle is definitely cool. Not to mention it`s cheap too. No real need to worry bout losing or breaking it. It`ll keep people like me going who are interested in getting an iPod for themselves but dont want to buy until the real thing arrives (vPod). I m definitely getting one as soon as I can.
I can definitely say that it`ll sell thrice as much compared to the older shuffle. Or in case there are few more people like me then you might see it being the bestselling iPod during this Xmas.
I'm also curious as to the 'waterproof-ness' of the model. if we're using it while exercising or skiing or in the garden - it's going to get rough and diry and moist. For such a small player (cool as it is) you almost need something protective on it (maybe a film product).
Wonder if the aluminum makes it have some kind of weight - the stick ones were almost too light...
With the THING being this cheap, I`d certainly not worry bout it much.

I didn't see any mention of race either.I think "I'm a second class citizen in my own country" says it all.

I really agree that we should show respect to other cultures, but pandering to them does nobody any good.
Has anybody suggested something that qualifies as "pandering"?
This is a great law ...
Yes! Hopefully Islamic countries follow suit and force Burqua's on every woman who enters the country.

The software handles 4K video, not even "prosumers" work in 4K so I doubt they'd bother supporting that and not things like EDL and OMF exports.
I hope you are right, but it Apple has taken a decidedly Online only approach to Final Cut X rather than the old school model of NLE for EDL creation.
That's great for a lot of people, but you do have to wonder how that new timeline kicks out an EDL, don't you? T
he majority of productions are still tape based for now, but it is shifting rather quickly (especially with the HDSR shortage). I would imagine that Apple is gambling on the inevitable future of tapeless workflows and so I don't think it would be that crazy for them to leave out traditional tools for NLE to Online workflows.

Salts of magnesium are used in fireworks, yes.
Chunks of metal? Nooooo, that would just be shrapnel. Setting magnesium metal on fire takes a lot of effort, so nobody get started on "I left my IPod in the sun for 20 minutes and it blew up!" threads.
cool... will see the inevitable return of the "man-auto-set-on-fire" urban legend... :D :D
"I swear, the man bursted into flame while skipping through his playlists"

Are you as old as Helen? Have you seen that she has seen?
Just because she speaks of Jewish influence in Washington, does not automatically make her anti-Semitic. Sorry to burst your self-created bubble.
Sounds like you just created a bubble yourself. Care to point out where I stated any of that? Or were you just making an assumption?
If you need to hear my opinion on the Jewish/ Israeli Lobby; Yes, I completely agree that it is a powerful force. However, that's not focus of the story.
There can be no question that undue influence (given the weight of Jewish voters) has been going on for years.
There can also be no question that one who reports the news needs to remain relatively objective. I could give a damn what she says in private but when one starts expressing their opinion in a profession such a journalism, you lose all credibility to report a story without undue bias.
Anti-Semitism is generally quite swiftly and harshly dealt with in this country (and rightly so). It's a shame such an attitude towards prejudice is not more evenly applied when it comes to other groups.
I think Israel deserves quite a lot of criticism, as does the pro-Israeli lobby. Criticism of these two entities is not tantamount to anti-Semitism. Also, much what Thomas says echoes sentiments being expressed accross the Middle East on a daily basis. She is Lebanese, and Israel's track record with Lebanon is pretty shameful. Right or wrong, this stuff is not necessarily coming out of the blue. With that being said, some of Thomas' statements and language came across as very reckless at best.
I completely agree.
I have no problem with her expressing her opinion/ point of view but with her (former) standing, she could probably wrangle a ton of op-ed space/ television interviews to voice her concerns in a tactful manner.

Steve never said the shuffle was coming with the new earbuds...however he did make it clear that they were coming with the other new iPods:(
I am wondering the same thing...guess we will have to wait and find out.
There hasn't been an apple headphone/earbud I've liked yet. As soon as I buy new iPods, I instantly ditch the earbuds they ship with the product (or give them away) and get something better.

Hey thanks for that. even though I live near Christ Church. It soulnds tricky- but I'll get there!!! Do they do tax exempt for non-Brits. Just in case you know off the top of your head!!!

Unfortunately there is no Apple Store, though there are three Starbucks. But if you need help (or to know you are not the only macuser in Oxford) there is a pretty good, hole-in-the-wall Apple education dealer/reseller in Headington. Address: 19 Old High Street. Absolute Computers is just off the high street (London Road) towards old Headington: go back beside Summerfields supermarket and it is above the audio shop - staircase is in the rear by the dumpsters in the Summerfield car park. Proprietor's name is Mike. They set our charity up with our first video editing system in 1998. There is also an Oxford MacUser group that meets once in awhile. They have a Yahoo Group, oxmacug@yahoogroups.com.
