Good. Apple can make a better software than Google. No doubts; here we go.
If Apple top Google Maps on Android as it is today then hats off to them as Google Maps is fantastic. Im really looking forward to seeing what Apple can do.

Side-by-side, the 13" looks bigger and better than the 11".
Put the 13" Air beside a 13" MacBook Pro and they're not that different in size/footprint, but the Pro has more of everything - drives, FireWire, etc. Thin doesn't seem so important with that many features at stake.
The 11" now starts to look like the compact Mac - a better trade off between size/portability and features.
The 11" has a 16:9 screen, which is a more pleasant and useful aspect ratio. And once you work on it, you don't miss the somewhat illusory additional screen real estate of the 13" 16:10. It's bigger, but in all the wrong places. However fractionally different, the footprint -seems- to change dramatically.
If Apple made a 16:9 13" Air, there might be something in it, but at the moment, the 11" is fast becoming the MacBook Air and the 13" is lost somewhere in between. It has thinness, but the same footprint as the MacBook Pro, with none of its advantages.
There's magic in that 11" MacBook Air, no doubt.

I agree. Steve Jobs is definitely taking this too far. A lot of people that were indifferent about him, now don't like the guy (based on what I've been reading in news articles and on forums).
+1... Steve is upset because Gizmodo took his spotlight on the KeyNote. Now he cant present the iPhone as first time. Next time you want secrecy, dont let the items get out from Apple Headquarters. Stupid issue. Move on and keep doing nice products...
BTW, I love Apple products... I will buy the iPhone and MBP 15" i7.... APPHOLES....

The problem is cost
I'd love to have a subscription to the New Yorker but, I'm not paying $5 an issue. They need to have a subscription pricing plan.
I use Zinio.com and it is fantastic. Magazines on line on my ipad, etc. for the same price as a mail subscription but, I get them instantaneously no matter where I am. I have gotten MacWorld from them for many years. When the ipad app came out I subscribed to 6 or 8 others.

I have this gut feeling Apple is holding back on features not implemented yet on purpose.Just like they held back on OS X running on Intel.
If Apple were to release some of those "secret" features to developers now Microsoft would have it too and possibly add similar features at the last minute.
I also believe Apple and Microsoft are working together on some stuff.
Vista Jan 30th
Leopard shown at MWSF and released in March.
Rosetta won't be visible on Intel machines in March.I agree. But I don't understand the last sentence. Would you please elaborate on what you mean by "won't be visible on Intel machines in March"? You mean new machines released then or the '06 crop vis-a-vis ultra fast Rosetta inside Leopard? Or something else?

I never understood why people give a "Negative" to articles like these. What can be Negative about them announcing a new product. It's not like you are on DroidRumors or a general phone website where other users can show their dislike towards the iPhone.
Maybe some of you who recently just purchased an iPhone 4 are just having a bit of buyer's remorse? Don't be such losers.

they even tracking iphone locations now!
I trust in apple's IT competence far more than any British Minister. Anything government run has a joke IT infrastructure from the inland revenue to the students loan company. :p

I'm pretty bad at debating, I now know for the future, just to shut up and talk about tech stuff, etc. I really don't enjoy debates online, it's hard to get my point across. Real life debates will do for now. Sorry all ;)

I disagree. I like how its seperate. What could you possibly need to sync between Mail and iCal anyways..... Event invties... ohh wait that works. I believe its better to have 3 seperate programs instead of entourage... that way you can be more efficient with your use. Like for instance, when I use my laptop in class I close Mail... cause I don't have Internet, but I still need iCal. So its perfect. I mean the only downside is that you have to click to open two apps. I don't see anything else. WHat can you integrate between the two other than contacts which is its own program.
I think its perfect how it is. I would love to see new features, new features are always great; I just can't think of any. Ohh I know one. Making things in iCal have links to documents so if a To-Do is to like finish a project.. u can link to the files so its all there, due date, importance, notes, location of files. And maybe they could work on the calendars (categories). Smart calendars would be nice. And more flexibility with calendars. I don't really see any other problems. I'm sure there are I'm just not that good at looking.
I have to disagree. In this case, integration is not a big deal. But in an office environment, having to switch between programs in order to take care of emails, contacts, appointments, and tasks is a big time waster. Yes, iCal has the event thingy and tasks but the fact remains that its not tightly coordinated like Outlook. I really don't understand why thye just don't put iCal in with Mail.

Also: we discovered that there's a registration table set up right in front of the designated Horseshoe booth. Don't let that deter you... you can walk behind the table to get to the booth.
Yeah, I was wondering what idiot decided to put a table right there.

This is a misnomer. It is not glasses-free 3D. No image is protruding from the screen. Also, the Wii has done this already. It looks a lot better in that it tracks not only your head but your depth of field.

Well, yes...
The Nintendo 3DS is based on stereoscopic so it is 3D within a certain viewing distance (adjustable, but fine with a small gaming portable with not as much processing power).
I would imagine this sort of thing requires a dual-core A5 processor/graphics?

I have no problem with England winning the series but I would rather watch a game.
I think Australia will be hard pressed to win from here but like I said before, a win from the dressing rooms is no fun for cricket lovers.

Oct 11 works with what they told me at the Apple store: "We'll have them in-store in early to mid October."
It's good for my wallet that they didn't have a rack of them in-store on Thursday...
Just ordered my shuffle online and it says that the estimated ship date is October 31st and the estimated arrival date is November 7th:(
...I'm still excited though!

I have to admit, when I first saw this story in the paper I didn't think it could possibly be true.
http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts/ci_17520593
From the story:
MANTECA -- A Manteca man remains behind bars four days after driving 35 miles on a freeway with his wife clinging to a windshield wiper blade on the hood of their minivan, police said Wednesday.
Christopher Michael Carroll, 36, was being held without bail at the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and domestic assault, according to sheriff's department records.
Carroll got into the family's minivan around 12:30 a.m. Saturday after he and his wife had an argument at their Manteca home, local police said.
"She kind of goes with the van to try to stop him, gets up on the hood and is hanging on to the wiper blade," said police spokesman Rex Osborn. "She obviously didn't think he would keep driving."
Carroll sped through Manteca, got on a freeway and didn't pull over until he reached Pleasanton, about 35 miles away, Osborn said.
Two witnesses called 911 from the road to report it, Osborn said. One of the callers followed Carroll all the way to Pleasanton and told police his speed reached 100 miles per hour.
Eventually, Carroll slowed down the vehicle and his wife "was able to roll off," Osborn said. The driver following the vehicle transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was treated for hypothermia.
So, anyone who is familiar with Northern California knows that the drive from Manteca to Pleasanton is from Highway 120 to I-205 to I-580. Not to mention the fact this is OVER the Altamont Pass - a higher elevation that can get extremely windy (lots of windmills on the hills as a matter of fact). So my initial reaction to this was  "This cannot possibly be true!"
And now 2 days later, the follow up story, where he has admitted that it did, in fact, happen http://www.mercurynews.com/crime-courts/ci_17532406:
A man accused of driving more than 40 miles at speeds of up to 100 mph with his wife clinging to the hood of their minivan told a San Joaquin County Superior Court judge Thursday that he is guilty as charged.
"I did that to my wife," he said. "I did all of that to my wife. I'm guilty." Christopher Michael Carroll, 36, was charged Thursday afternoon with attempted murder, corporal injury to a spouse and assault with a deadly weapon in the bizarre case that has captured worldwide attention.
Carroll also told the court that he wants to be his own attorney. Judge Ronald Northup did not accept his plea, however. The case has been transferred to the Stockton courthouse and Carroll will appear there Tuesday for further arraignment
So Bizarre!
First of all I truly can't believe that she managed to hang on the entire time - clinging to a windshield wiper blade! Superhuman strength on her part? Second, he was allegedly going up to 100 MPH at times, which makes it even more incredible that she never fell off it had to been at least a 30 minute drive, if not longer!

I sometimes walk out in the snow without a jacket or a sweater, just a T-shirt. I would feel the cold pressing against my skin, not as cold, but as an unusual sensation. It's funny. When I changed my pain threshold in my mind, I was able to cope with the cold weather pretty easily.
Thats what I used to do to build my cold threshold, when I lived in Chicago.

I'm about to install it. I'm actually happy about temperature rises, makes it run longer on battery because the fans don't spin so fast. And if you want to use your Macbook (Pro) on your lap, I highly recommend SMCFanConrtol (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/23049). It's basically a slider where you can set your fan speed up (not down) to a constant speed. 2500 rpm is just perfect for my taste to use the Macbook on my lap, and you can't really hear the fans (the hard drive covers it well). So if you have concerns about heat, use this piece of software and raise the lowest fan speed (1500 rpm on Macbooks).
The stock minimum speed is supposedly 1000 RPM. The fans probably don't take more than a watt of power, meaning a minute or two battery life difference assuming they are maxed out.

Picked up a copy of this up on Amazon. They have a $20 gift card deal going on. Plus if you buy the Playstation 3 version (and sync your PSN and Steam IDs) you can download a free copy of the game for your PC or Mac. So that's about $35 for the game and a $20 gift card, plus free shipping (2 day shipping for Prime members) and no tax? That's a good deal in my book. :D
