That was the PCie x1900 (cut down version of the x1900xt available for the intel mac pro) as it only had 256mb ram.. iam not too sure how much further it was cut down, iam thinking it also had less pipelines than the MP version.
No. The X1900gto only had less ram.
as I was pretty satisfied with the geforce 6800 256MB video card.
The 6800 is one of the slowest video cards available.
Read here: http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php
Out of 943 cards, the 6800 is #311 and the X1900 is #116.
Don't feel bad though, the Rage 128 Ultra in my dual 450mhz PowerMac G4 is #933 on that list...
Am I reading that right? Your G5 can't view 1080? it plays fluid on my Dual 2.7. YouTube or Quicktime.
That is correct. Any G5 under the 2.5Ghz models struggles to play 1080p. In Quicktime format its fine, but MKV or FLV its unwatchable.

Just got this in my inbox:
Comcast just decided that internet usage really shouldn't comprise of anything more than 2,3 emails a day MAX. I mean, come on people. There isn't that much legitimate content on the net, so if you're consuming any more than 2-3 mb per data a day with your fat 100/100 Mbps DOCSIS 3 pipe then you're probably a pirate. Infact, you are a pirate. No debate.
Effective immediately all data transfer is limited to 5 Mb daily with a $50 per kb overage, no cap. These caps do not count against content retrieved from comcast.net . We're just sayin!
-CC
LOL, thats funny.
The average household uses 6GB per month on Comcast.
You would have to use 40 times the average monthly data use to even approach a Comcast cap.
(And yes, all data transfer including that from comcast.net counts against your cap)
You guys act like the majority of people using the internet use significant amount of data. That is simply not the case. If you want to purchase more throughput to support your excessive use, nothing is stopping you.

ooohhh well they may aswell have all your years of personal information on the server farm!
why dont we all just send them our hardrives? then whoever works in that place can do that evil laugh MWHAHAHAHAHAHA! the power all that information!!!!
this is the way of controlling what we do if it gets to us uploading everything to a cloud server.
time machine back up to cloud? yeah? what stops apple cracking that open to see what im up to?

Na, these two have and will survive without iPhone.
These already have traffic capability anyway ( via subscription ).
I am in agreement with Chaz on this. With Android and iOS having so much built into their portable OS now, I kinda think the days of dedicated GPS devices are going to be limited.
It is sad, but I do see more and more iPhones, and Android devices attached to front windshields were a normal GPS usually goes.

The problem is, if Apple actually releases the White iPhone I'll have to go back to believing in Unicorns ...

i wonder how much apple pays to assemble these? one would think it's cheaper to put a tower or something similar together than an all in one

I'll only go for it if it meets these criteria:
1. Able to burn to DVD (songs have this option for CD, why no movies?)
2. A Netflix-esque rental style along with full-on purchases
3. At least DVD quality.
If none of these are met (except for the first, I could live without but its nice to have the option) I'm sticking with the options which already exist and keeping my Netflix subscription.

The Motion developers are still employed and working on something to be released soon.Even though I live and breath AE, I would still like to see Apple further the Motion/Shake soft :) And if its anything like the new Compound Clips and Timeline...well thatll be enticing ;)

Downloaded firmwares for all my iOS devices in a couple of minutes. Go go multithreaded download manager!
Is iPad 2,2 = AT&T and iPad 2,3 = Verizon? Thanks for the link BTW.

Currently, 45% of the electrical power generated in the U.S. is produced by burning coal.
Perhaps, but do you think it'll stay this way? Electricity can be generated cleanly. I don't see why we need to put a stopper on progress elsewhere just because we have more work to do in how we generate electricity.

Mobile DDR3 1.3ghz is the same speed, and will bench the same as Desktop DDR3 1.3ghz. The only difference between desktop ram and mobile ram is that desktop ram can reach speeds higher than 1.3ghz and can be over clocked. While Mobile ram takes awhile to reach higher speeds (It wasn't until 2010 where mobile DDR3 reached 1.3ghz) and the dimms are smaller, and cost more for there smaller size. Speed wise, if they are listed the same speed, both will bench the same.
Apple using mobile GPU's is simply because of heat/speed ratio. Even a 27 inch iMac couldn't take the heat generation of a Nvidia 470/570/580. Mobile GPU generally provide excellent performance with less heat output. Until high end desktop video cards start becoming single slot solutions again and finally tackle heat generation, Apple will most likely continue to only put mobile GPU's in iMacs.
Thanks for taking the time to explain it

I am honestly not fussed about this.
I would much rather have a physical apple branded itunes server for my house to fit in with my personal eco-system. I just cannot see myself using this - especially with the inevitable restrictions that will come with music I have ripped from my purchased CD's.
Well you already have time capsule, I agree it's a half arsed solution, but anyway it's not an either or thing, we do need much (much) better cloud solutions and AND home servers. And most of us will be far better off with both of them as neither really replaces the other.
Anyway, as someone said, get on with it, I 'd say the same. We can't wait for it.

I know it happens and there's nothing I can do. But if at some point something critical gets released that really pisses Apple off then we as developers may lose access to this information. Or be forced to pay a much higher price for early access.
Leaking this info doesn't benefit anyone but losing access to the pre-release versions could seriously effect the smaller developers. I just find it pathetic that some people just have no respect for others.
You are right, of course... Sites like this exist though because people are hoping someone will say something they shouldn't. I tend to think the good (derived from the passion and hype) balance the bad.
It's not my information being divulged though, it's Apple's, so what I think doesn't matter so much...

That would be awesome, but if muslims are the majority, i have a bad feeling about what they will turn the country into. It would likely become a muslim state, and israel would not be able to remain secular. Why could it not have a secular constitution?
If the palestinians were mostly christian, this situation wouldn't be going on right now. The whole problem is the fact that they are muslim.Significant numbers are Christian, actually. 4% now, 8% until 1946, and of course Maronites make up 22% of the population of Lebanon.
